Use the same super-deluxe safety device that John uses on the TinkerBench™! With five bulbs, a deluze meter and bypass, the DBT-1 gives you switchable and configurable currentlimiting, as well as consumption data in both bulb and bypass modes. The DBT-1 is also fused. The product is hand-built by John himself in a tough ABS case.
What you get:
- Illuminated switches to show the status of the unit and which bulbs are activated
- IEC electrical in, with grounded power cord.
- Works perfectly with your isolation transformer and or Variac ahead of (recommended) or after the DBT-1 in line.

- Electronic meter that runs when power is on and no short is present, giving you voltage, current, power, power factor, frequency and energy.
- 5A fuse on front panel.
- Configured for US 120VAC at 60Hz.
- Five 40 watt appliance-grade incandescent bulbs, giving you adjustable current limit from 0.34 to 1.67 amps and 5 amps in Bypass.
- Ceramic bulb sockets, allowing you to configure bulbs for higher or lower wattage.
- You can overdrive the unit to 12 Amps because the internal wiring is silicone-jacketed 14 gauge stranded.
